Chico’s Cafe
427 South Washington Street, Combined Locks

Opened in February 2020, Chico’s Café is a family-friendly restaurant that prides itself on serving and giving back to the community through free meals and fundraisers. Located on the corner of Washington and Wallace Street in Combined Locks, they offer generous portions at affordable prices.

A large part of Chico’s menu is dedicated to breakfast and for good reason. They serve breakfast all day every day including platters, skillets, and breakfast sandwiches. Their omelets are very popular and you can choose from 12 different varieties including the Farmer’s, Meat Lover’s, or Veggie omelet. The omelets come with potatoes as well as toast, pancakes, or biscuits and gravy. Pancakes, waffles, and French toast can also be found on their own or included in a breakfast combo with eggs and a choice of meat. These can all be enjoyed with tasty toppings including blueberry, strawberry, or cherry. The French Toast may also be stuffed with scrumptious Nutella and bananas or wild berries, or can be specially made with poppy seed, pumpkin, or banana bread. One of their unique breakfast specials are the crepes which come in several different mouthwatering flavors.

If breakfast isn’t what you fancy, you can opt for a variety of burgers, sandwiches, or wraps which all come with a side of potato chips, fries, or soup. As a fan of all things spicy, I had to try the tantalizing Fuego Burger with jalapenos and Pepperjack cheese. One of the more popular sandwiches is the Baja Chicken Sandwich with grilled chicken breast, bacon, fresh avocado, and Chipotle mayo. A few other favorites are the BLT, liver and onions, gyro sandwich, and the loaded nachos with both chicken and steak.

Chico’s Café offers a different special every day of the week. Starting on Sundays, bring your appetite for all-you-can-eat fried chicken. Monday’s specialties are baked chicken and turkey dinners. A unique special only available on Tuesdays are Indian tacos which are comprised of frybread topped with ground beef, lettuce, onions, salsa, and sour cream. Wednesday’s feature is Italian cuisine with homemade lasagna as well as spaghetti and meatballs. Mexican dinners are offered on Thursdays with delicious chimichangas, burritos, tacos, fajitas, and enchiladas all on the menu. Perch, haddock, whitefish, and shrimp are offered on Friday for your typical Wisconsin fish fry with your choice of lunch, dinner, or all you can eat. Saturday rounds out the week with all you can eat BBQ ribs.

Don’t forget to save room for dessert as Chico’s has a range of shakes, cakes, pies, and delectable cheesecakes. One of my favorite desserts is the tiramisu. Yum!

Chico’s Café is open every day from 5:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. They offer both dine-in and carry out. Chico’s Café strives to keep a clean and welcoming diner for the whole family to enjoy.
